You may have noticed an unusual number of evergreen trees that are dying in Dakota Dunes. The Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District (CID) is cutting down over 50 dead evergreen trees from public areas. Some have died due to the drought but some could be due to Needle Cast Disease. If you notice some dying or dead evergreen trees in your yard please contact your local nursery for more information, treatment solutions and advice.
In addition the CID is in the process of planting numerous evergreen trees in the berms between the Prairie and I-29. This should be completed when the weather improves.
